METHOD OF PREPARATION

    • Heat coconut oil in the pot on medium heat. Add cumin seeds and sauté until fragrant.
    • Add grated ginger, hing, and turmeric powder. Stir for a few seconds to release their aromas.
    • Add chopped carrots, pumpkin, and spinach. Sauté for 2-3 minutes.
    • Rinse yellow moong dal thoroughly and add it to the pot. Stir to combine.
    • Add water, coriander powder, and Himalayan salt. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer for 20-25 minutes until the dal and vegetables are soft.
    • Blend the soup with an immersion blender or leave it chunky for texture.
    • Stir in coconut milk and black pepper. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.

Ayurvedic Utensil Recommendations

    • Clay Pots: Retain food’s natural flavor and prana (life force).
  •
    • Stainless Steel: Durable and toxin-free for cooking.
  •
    • Copper Utensils: These can be used to store water and enhance its purity (not for cooking).

Avoid Non-Sattvic Utensils:

      • Non-Stick or Aluminum Cookware: These can release harmful chemicals and disrupt the sattvic nature of food.

Why Avoid Microwaves?

Microwaving food destroys its natural prana (life energy), reducing its sattvic quality and overall nutritional value. Ayurveda emphasizes eating freshly cooked meals to maintain vitality and promote digestion. Opt for gentle reheating on a stove in a stainless steel pot to preserve the integrity of your food.
